Apply for a loan online now

Swiss households borrow money for a variety of reasons: to buy a new car, finance renovations, or purchase new furniture. If you're self-employed, a loan can help you manage bigger-ticket purchases and expenses. However, you need to be able to provide evidence of a regular income.

Requesting a loan is now a much more straightforward process than it was a few years ago. Today you have the option of applying for your personal loan on a fully online basis. The process includes a thorough credit check designed to make sure you can afford the loan.

Planning your loan – consider the amount and term

Before applying for a loan online, think about your preferred term and what your maximum monthly repayment should be. The longer the term, the lower the monthly repayments. Regardless of the agreed term, you should be in a position to repay the entire credit within 36 months – as set out in Article 28 of the Consumer Credit Act (CCA). If you apply for an excessive amount of credit, this may lead to your application being rejected.

Conditions applicable to borrowing in Switzerland

Switzerland's Consumer Credit Act aims to protect consumers from taking on excessive debt. Therefore, your personal solvency will be checked whenever you apply for credit. If you have any outstanding debt enforcement proceedings, your application is certain to be rejected. Furthermore, the conditions imposed can vary from one loan provider to another. At BANK-now, loans are subject to the following conditions:

  • You must be at least 20 years old.
  • You must have permanent residence in Switzerland.
  • You must hold Swiss citizenship, a permanent residence permit C, or a B, L, or G residence permit.
  • If you own your own home, you benefit from lower interest rates: You must have been the sole owner or co-owner of a property in Switzerland for at least six months (entry in land register).
